Supply Chain Deployment Leader - EMEA coverage
by Matthew Moore on 8th April 2009
My Client is one of the leading FMCG organisations in the world with more than 22,000 employees worldwide.
The executive decision has been taken to redeploy Lean/Six Sigma within EMEA Supply Chain division and the first step is to hire an experienced Deployment Manager.
The main Sponsors for the Lean Sigma programme are the executive board members and senior management within EMEA Supply Chain.
You will be assigned to deploy and lead the Lean Six Sigma activities for the Supply Chain Group together with the VP Global Quality and the Quality Assurance Director EMEA. The scope of the Supply Chain sector is Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics and Quality for the EMEA region. Your main focus is going to be within Europe because the main sites are European based.
Your position has a crucial impact on the success of the Lean Six Sigma program because you will provide both leadership and technical direction within the assigned areas.
You will act as the primary liaison between the Lean Six Sigma PMO and the assigned area in order to help create and translate the organizational strategy as it relates to the Lean Six Sigma objectives.
Your goal is to create a sustainable, self sufficient Lean Sigma deployment spanning across the EMEA Supply Chain sector. Your long term goal is to develop and demonstrate a sustainable replication model.
You will also need to identify and recruit Black Belts via internal resources and external hiring. There needs to be a healthy balance of internally selected employees and externally qualified candidates. The team currently stands at 4 Black Belts and needs to be expanded to 8 to 10. Approximately 30 Green Belts have been trained but are variably involved in their projects.
Your role as the EMEA Deployment Leader is not to train, your role will be to coach, support and energize your team and your stakeholders.
There is a heavy emphasis and focus on career progression because intellectual capital is highly valued within this global organisation. There is a strong focus on retaining key executives in the long term.
You have the fantastic opportunity to progress within the hierarchy on a regular basis and opportunities could be within Switzerland or in other European locations.
