Smallpeice delegates enter public & in-company programmes with an improvement project that is worked upon in parallel with training, and supported by coaching and mentoring. A formal accreditation process is applicable at Master, Black and Green Belt levels, and successful certification is dependent on delegates fulfilling all of the guidelines and criteria required.
In brief, the assessment process comprises:
- Submission of a written project report.
- Presentation on the main findings and benefits, outcomes and process used and evidence of the tools and techniques utilised in the project.
- Interview by at least one Six Sigma Master Black Belt to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of Six Sigma to the appropriate level (i.e. beyond the specifics of the project).
- This is also tested in the examination.
- Multiple-choice examination (open book).
An additional option is accreditation by Cardiff University Business School. Where this is selected, an independent site visit and audit is undertaken.
