Who is the author?
Dave Gaster is the MD of Support Services Direct, a company that provides consultants and interim managers to the service industry. Dave initially trained as a Civil Engineer, moving into service management at the age of 30, gaining his first Director post when 35.
He has transformed many organisations from ‘failing to best in country’, from ‘loss making to profitable’, typically saving 14% net costs for a whole department. He has headed organisations up to 2,500 employees with over a £100M turnover. In addition he has been commissioned to write for Quality Manager and present to many learned bodies including IDeA and the Deming Forum.
