The Global Six Sigma&Business Improvement Awards has announced Tom Farrell, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dominion (www.dom.com), as the winner of its prestigious Six Sigma&Business Improvement CEO of the Year Award, sponsored by Minitab.

The Global Six Sigma and Business Improvement Awards are given to the most outstanding organizational achievements through the deployment of business improvement programs.

"Excellence" is a core value at Dominion and Six Sigma has become a part of the company's pathway to achieving it. Since its Six Sigma deployment in 2001, Dominion has trained more than 6,000 employees in various skill levels, won numerous awards, and created a program that
other companies strive to replicate.

The shortlist of finalists for the 2009 Global Six Sigma&Business Improvement Awards program has also been announced. A total of 43 entries from 34 organizations have been selected by the independent judging panel from 12 categories to go forward to the final stages of the judging process.

The winners for all categories and the Special Awards will be announced at The Global Six Sigma&Business Improvement Awards Gala Dinner on Wednesday October 14th 2009, being held at the Walt Disney World Swan&Dolphin Resort, Orlando, Florida. The Special Awards sponsors include PowerSteering and Xonitek.

The Gala Dinner is part of WCBF's 4th Annual Global Lean Six Sigma&Business Improvement Summit, October 13-16 2009 in Orlando which is positioned to be the largest gathering of CEOs and Senior Executives passionate about Six Sigma.

The Global Six Sigma and Business Improvement Awards are judged by a panel of independent business improvement experts and practitioners.
