Ex-Caterpillar Six Sigma Deployment Champion, Susan Kuepfer, joins Catalyst

Catalyst is delighted to announce that Susan Kuepfer has joined the growing Catalyst team. Susan was the Six Sigma Deployment Champion for Caterpillar’s marketing environment in Europe, Africa, Middle East & Russia.

Originally from Scotland, Susan has lived in Scotland, the United States and England. She returned to the U.S. to pursue her education at Miami University of Ohio, graduating in 1984 with a BS in Business Administration and minors in Statistics and Psychology. Upon graduation, Susan took a position with Caterpillar, and at the age of 23, decided to transfer to Switzerland, where her career at Caterpillar led her through several promotions and into different businesses of the company.

Susan now lives with her husband near Geneva, Switzerland and enjoys ski mountaineering, running, hiking, gardening, cooking and learning.

Susan’s experience and skills are extensive:

  • Multi-cultural and bi-lingual (English, French)
  • Over 20 years of multi-national enterprise experience
  • Deployment and facilitation of new corporate strategy (leadership workshops at various organisational levels).
  • Deployment of Six Sigma throughout marketing and shared services environment covering over 800 people in Europe, Africa, Middle East and Russia, Susan ensured Six Sigma deployment costs were covered by value from projects in first year. Created over $120 million in project benefits since then.
  • Developed methodology for sales growth projects.
  • Lead and participated in development and execution of Six Sigma deployments to distribution and supplier network. Developed and facilitated relevant training and leadership workshops.
  • Coached leadership team on use of Six Sigma to deliver strategy.
  • Organized and facilitated workshops for more than 500 Six Sigma project sponsors.
  • Put in place over 100 Black Belts. Managed a team of 7 high performing Master Black Belts. Supported approximately 150 project sponsors.
  • Started journey to a more process and metric orientated organization, including Lean "transactional"

Susan is a fast learner, change agent, leader, coach/people developer, open minded, pro-active. She loves a challenge - getting results through coaching is what Susan is passionate about.
