The Six Sigma, Lean and Process Improvement Study Group of the Royal Statistical Society, in collaboration with the Chartered Quality Institute, announces a new service to UK based organisations of all types in manufacturing, service and the public sector. The service takes the form of a programme of surgeries with international experts on a “panel to panel” basis. The surgeries aim to provide the opportunity for the in-house Lean Six Sigma, Six Sigma and Lean Leaders, together with executive management, to discuss confidentially any aspects of their current or prospective implementation with an impartial panel of experts led by Professor Tony Bendell. Details of current panel members are attached to this notice.
Modelled loosely on “Gardeners Question Time”, the panel-to-panel sessions will typically consist of one-hour private sessions between the organisations in-house team and a sub-panel of three independent experts. The in-house team participating can in theory consist of any number, but typically is expected to consist of 2-5 members.
Dependent on demand, it is envisaged that these Lean Six Sigma surgery sessions will be offered on a Regional basis, with the sub-panel visiting for a day to undertake discussions with 4-6 organisations. Participating organisation will be charged a nominal amount to cover expenses. Organisations interested in participating are invited to contact Paul Gentry at the Royal Statistical Society.
The intention is to pilot this activity with an initial set of surgery sessions to be run at the Royal Statistical Society in Errol Street, London, EC1Y 8LX on Wednesday, September 30th, 2009. A nominal contribution to expenses of £100 per participating organisation will be charged. Places will be allocated strictly on a first come first serviced basis, so that early reservation is advised. Sessions will typically last one hour, but longer sessions can be negotiated if booked early.
