My client is a global leader in its field and has engaged Pacific to resource a Supply Chain Manager for their plant in the Haute Normandie region of France.
A strategically vital plant to the group, it has been under performing considering its size and resources.
The main issue stems from OTD, which is currently at 85%, far too low for a company of its reputation. The successful candidate will therefore have to unravel the various issues that are causing this poor performance.
Key to success will be your strong experience in purchasing and procurement, supplier management and supplier quality. You will successfully review the purch/proc strategy whilst establishing excellent relations with your suppliers. Their performance correlates directly with your success.
Order management will also come under review with a stronger communication link between the plant and the commercial area of the business, as a priority.
You will have had success in applying ABC/XYZ analysis and other dedicated inventory strategies in order to make sure that orders can be fulfilled and frozen capital reduced.
“Flow” is the operative word for this position and you will be required to understand material flow and information flow (VSM/supply chain responsiveness matrix) from Procurement, Production Planning, Supplier Performance through to Logistics.
This position is exciting because of the amount of quick wins that can be achieved as well as the lateral thinking and entrepreneurship necessary. It is also of critical importance to the plant’s long term strategy as has been recently defined.
There is much to do and you will be supported at both site and group level.
Group directors will be keeping a close eye on your performance, giving you quick access and influence to top management.
There is fluid movement through this meritocratic company. Considering the size of the group (24 plants worldwide), there is ample scope for professional and personal growth.
