My client is a tier 1 automotive parts manufacturer with lean, medium-sized structures which are quick at making decisions with fast expert implementation. There is currently no formal Lean programme in place, and in a new drive from the Corporate C
OO this is something which needs to be put in place.
The Lean Production System Leader will be personally responsible for driving all Lean initiatives at local plant site. This will be done in coordination with the Global Lean Production System that will be rolled out across multiple international sites. You will consult, coach, support, manage and execute all Lean based activities and teams during the development and deployment of this Lean Production System. The Lean Production System Leader is the contact person on a local site level for Lean process improvements and methodologies.
The deployment of the Lean Production System will contribute to a global plant-wide improvement regarding safety, quality, cost development, delivery performance and supports the Management objectives.
Your main goals will be to impact the following:
• Increase productivity by 25/30%
• Reduce
inventory by 50%
• Increase utilization of machinery by 30%
Additional targets:
• Introduce a Lean infrastructure to your local plants and get a basic understanding of the tools
onto the shop floor.
• Make sure Lean tools are in practice across the plants
• Make sure local site leaders (plant managers) understand the Lean methodology and can
communicate this to their direct reports
• Manage and drive the Lean Production System across your allocated site.
You will possess strong experience of implementing Lean in a tier 1 automotive environment, ideally across assembly, machining and inventory.
