Role:
Provide Continuous Improvement Leadership in the organisation including the achievement of annual business goals (e.g. $10MM Net Productivity financial benefit in FY11).
Lead the organisation through analysis and decision making using the CI Process to identify the most significant improvement opportunities, link them with the most appropriate CI techniques and create tactical improvement plans.
Working through the Regional Organisational Champions and CI Black Belts, lead the cascading of improvement plans via the formation of action teams, creation of Gantt charts, X-Matrices and measurement systems.
Coach the organization through implementation including identifying and resolving barriers to implementation, formation of control systems and recognizing and rewarding performance.
Develop the wider organisation (e.g. Leaders, Supervisors and Individual Contributors) in CI understanding and use through coaching and education.
Identify, develop and provide performance feedback to CI practitioners to directly support CI progress and enable them to grow into future Leadership or Senior CI roles.
Monitor the application of the CI process, assess its effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement of the process.
Through the Practice Release Manager manage the identification and sharing of global best practices for activities worldwide and in support of its joint venture activities.
This position requires a wide variety of business knowledge and experience in a number of areas. This will enable the successful candidate to analyse and diagnose complex business and process needs is required.
The position requires strong strategic and tactical planning abilities using a variety of diagnostic and mapping techniques. The successful candidate will have the ability to quickly and effectively assimilate business and process information and use it to diagnose improvement opportunities.
He or she will need sufficient knowledge of a wide variety of Continuous Improvement approaches and tools to effectively identify the optimum ones. A strong background in and proven success in using both Lean Manufacturing techniques and 6 Sigma methodology is essential. The successful candidate must also have organisational development skills that enable the position to diagnose cultural deficits and ways to improve them, strong coaching, teaching and influencing skills and the ability to effectively “operationalise” the CI change
management model.
