The successful individual will support and drive the overall market place eminence, develop and maintain strong long term client relationships and aim to be recognised as a trusted advisor of choice within the UK Retail Banking sector. Directors are expected to achieve specific sales and managed revenue goals for the Financial Services sectors and manage the sales processes in compliance with the Firm’s risk management and independence policies. We expect the candidate also to take a lead role in developing the Lean proposition within Consulting.
• Relevant experience (8-12 years) within a major retail bank, insurance company or consulting firm directly involved in delivering change across the value chain. Consulting experience in your cv is mandatory.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of the UK Retail Banking industry or market or General Insurance and Life and Pensions sectors.
• Track record in managing the successful delivery of large, complex programmes / engagements on time and within budget.
• Proven ability to structure and develop and deliver transformation solutions.
• Track record in account development, business and relationship development and the ability to identify and act upon opportunities to build and develop practice footprint.
• Proven ability to understand, mitigate and manage risk.
• Exceptional communicator with the ability to articulate complex ideas to all levels of an organisation, and effectively lead and manage all key stakeholders.
• Excellent programme management disciplines.
• Ability to lead and direct large and cross functional teams.
• Excellent people management and development skills with a strong focus on team development.
• Specialist in Lean, Six Sigma (preferably Black Belt or Master Black Belt), cost reduction and BPR methodologies.

The key accountabilities for this role are:
Business Development – Account Management
• Develop, manage and enhance strong relationships with large clients, local and international.
• Responsible for the acquisition of new assignments, new clients, complex sales processes and complex RFP’s.
• Leverage sales opportunities through the development of existing relationships and foster links with Audit, Tax and FAS partners to help them understand the services of Operations Excellence.
Delivering Value to Clients
• Further develop and implement the Operations Excellence Practice for The Netherlands, set within the global strategy.
• Demonstrate thought leadership in developing clear recommendations by creative, problem solving approaches, and generation of new ideas.
• Develop in-depth knowledge and capabilities in the chosen industry and functional areas.
• Manage and coordinate work teams and client employees and execute the delivery to effectively meet the client’s needs in a cooperative and interactive manner.

The Candidate
The candidate is a well-educated, down-to-earth, experienced professional with a proven track-record in Operations Excellence. He/she has literacy on the whole range of Operations transformation challenges as mentioned before and is very well developed in one of them, preferably Lean Six Sigma. Depending on the experience, the network and the track-record of the candidate, he/she will start as a (senior) Director or as a Senior Manager. If the candidate starts as a (senior) Director he/she will have the outlook to become Partner in a relatively short time frame.
The candidate is seen as a thought leader on Operations Leadership and is based on his content and business development skills to become the face in the market.
The candidate has an understanding of the prevailing issues within Operations Excellence, of underlying political and business drivers and of probable consequences, at a strategic level. Organisational management experience and exposure to commercial / relationship management environments will be very helpful.
The candidate has strong consultancy skills. He/she needs to have strong analytical, conceptual and communication skills, has patience, listens well, is content-focused and has successfully led large multidisciplinary projects.
He/she should have the flexibility to work with a wide range of people and is capable of managing assignment teams to develop a level of credibility and trust with the client. The candidate is able to establish a relationship with the client, both during and after the assignment, and to establish a productive working relationship internally with colleagues in a high pressure environment.
