My client is a world leader in production and distribution, working in tandem with some of the most well recognised brands on the planet.
They are looking for a Project Manager to work on industrial projects such as ramp-up and the creation of new production lines.
You will be required to work closely with members of your team in order to drive the project through according Cost/Schedule/Performance metrics.
You will be involved in:
- Supplier management for selection
- Defining project parameters
- Aligning the costs with the process
- Working with Finance in gaining Capital Approval Requests
- Planning
- Project Execution
- Capital expenditure, budget control
The company is looking for high caliber candidates who can work under time and budget pressures.
You will need to be a team player who is capable of motivating and overcoming resistance at several levels of the organisation. You will also require excellent presentation skills as you will be presenting to executives and heading steering committees.
My client is also looking for a technically accomplished engineer with a curious streak who is confident in their ability and can, when necessary, make immediate judgement calls and big decisions.
To recap. You will:
• Manage engineering projects to an agreed scope, within cost, schedule and performance criteria.
• Manage cost controls, reporting and administration and ensure that up to date project forecasting is communicated, gaps analysed and plans to correct implemented.
• Arrange supplier agreements for engineering projects through preparing tenders, negotiating contracts and monitoring their performance.
• Establish and agree detailed project plans and milestones across departments and functions so that roles and deliverables are clear.
• Communicate regular project updates so that all involved are clear on the current project status.
• Manage legislation standards within projects to ensure they comply with the project management system and the latest legislation.
• Maintain best practice on all projects through benchmarking industry and company best practice and ensuring projects meet them.
• Understand the latest project KPI standards, deploy them in projects and ensure that suppliers and the company meet them.
• Support the work of the project team, sharing knowledge and advice with project managers and site engineering managers to ensure that all projects are effectively and safely completed.
