MINITAB Introduces Quality Statistics E-Learning Service

Minitab Ltd. has launched Quality Trainer™ by Minitab, a comprehensive, Web-based learning service that teaches statistics and serves as an ongoing resource for quality professionals.
The service is available via subscription at http://www.minitab.co.uk/
Using narration, animation, and other multimedia, Quality Trainer teaches subscribers how to apply statistics and use Minitab Statistical Software to maximize the benefits of data-driven quality initiatives, such as Six Sigma.
“Quality Trainer is a great complement to Minitab’s in-person training,” says Cate Twohill, product manager at Minitab. “For people who’ve attended Minitab training, it’s a way to keep that knowledge fresh. And if you can’t attend our live training sessions, Quality Trainer is a convenient alternative for learning quality statistics.”
The service delivers nine chapters of material covering basic graphical analysis and statistical inference, as well as more advanced techniques like process capability, analysis of variance and design of experiments.
“Professionals learn how to use these methods to solve real-world quality improvement challenges, and they get to practice their new skills immediately through hands-on exercises and interactive quizzes,” says Twohill.
“Quality Trainer’s engaging, Web-based design makes difficult concepts easy to grasp and gives professionals convenient access to an ongoing resource for their projects.”
Minitab’s statistics experts developed Quality Trainer in collaboration with instructional design and multimedia teams at Enspire Learning, an e-learning development company based in Austin, Texas. The end result is an interactive learning experience filled with engaging storylines that bring Minitab’s highly regarded training services to a wider audience via the Internet.
